The Southerly 100 is a Dick Carter design, one of the few really shallow draught modern yachts available. She has a pilot house with interior steering, and a cast iron ballast plate protecting the keel and bottom when grounding. We sold this yacht to the present owner 10 years ago, and since then he has very comprehensively upgraded and equipped her. Built in 1982-84 and launched in 1985, this Tradewind 35 is a moderately heavy displacement long-keeled yacht. This example has a Hydrovane self-steering gear and wind generator on the stern, and excellent sails. She was coppercoated in early 2021. The Moody S31 is one of the later and more modern production designs for Moody by Bill Dixon, aiming at better sailing performance than many earlier Moody models, and with good accommodation within a modest overall length. This Yarmouth 23 was built as a demonstration boat for the builders, and was exhibited at the 2012 and 2013 Southampton Boat Shows. The Contessa 32 is a classic cruiser-racer, whose combination of speed and seaworthiness was proved in the ill-fated 1979 Fastnet Race. Whilst the interior is small for a "modern" 32-footer, a Contessa can make passages in weather that will keep most other boats firmly in harbour.
