"Tipsy" is the sort after lifting keel version with 8hp 4-stroke Honda outboard located in a central well. It's a cosy 6 berth, forward head with good storage room. It has a large chart table and has good head room for the size of boat. The headlining was replaced last year, it has a large overlapping kevlar number 1, loose footed mainsail, several other sails including a spinnaker. The yacht includes a pair of beaching legs and floats in about 2ft water. It performs well in any breeze yet is easy to handle. In good state of repair and is currently lying at Littlehampton. |

Stepping aboard this Newbridge Pioneer I found it really difficult to believe that it is only a 26 foot boat. There seems to be ample room for a proper galley, a proper chart table, ample seating and an aft cabin. And all of this is made to feel even more spacious by the very nice light upholstery. Sitting in the saloon one is impressed by how light and airy it actually feels.
This boat also ticks so many boxes in terms of its equipment and most of the major cost items have all been replaced in the past few years.
Definitely one worth a look. A cracking little family cruiser.

Lovely condition Fletcher Arrow Flash 15 with 75hp Mercury Engine. Engine was serviced just 10 hrs ago and the boat has been on the water for just over 120 hours. Washed after every use and stored ashore. Comes with fenders, oar, ski pole, 4 x 25 litre Mercury fuel tanks, road trailer with security lock, spare keys for all locks and engine. Stainless steel 'vengence' prop fitted and the original brand new prop comes with the boat as well. 75hp engine is perfect for towing toys and skiers and is very econimical. Longbow II was built in Croshaven boat yard to be an out and out racer with the proviso that at the end of her racing carear she would be modified for mainly cuising use which was done after about four years.
She is currently affloat and in use in Chichester Harbour (UK S.E.) she is equiped to CAT 2 comercial standard but not currently up to date.
There are lots of sails and bits, original drawings and pieces.
The hull is Teak planked with a Teak deck (new 1993), 4000kg lead keel (bolts all replaced 1991), keel stepped alloy mast.
She was shared 50:50 with a friend but the he got into finacial dificulty and I had to buy him out. I have tried looking for new parteners since the end of last year but so far have not found anyone genuinely interested who has followed up on initial interest by comming to see her, meet and have a sail.
She has a CAT 0 stability certificate, as a offshore racer of her time would be expected to have, and going to windward in 40kn offshore is far more of a test of the crew’s oilies and stamina than the boat or her rig. |
